Panola Women’s Basketball Season Ends in Region XIV Final Four

The Panola College women’s basketball team saw its season come to an end after falling to Trinity Valley Community College 70–57 in the semifinals of the NJCAA Region XIV Conference Tournament in Baytown, Texas.

Panola advanced to the Final Four after a dramatic quarterfinal win over Blinn College. The Fillies rallied in the fourth quarter, outscoring Blinn 27–14 to secure a 62–59 victory and move on in the postseason tournament.

In the semifinal matchup, Trinity Valley proved too strong, pulling away in the second half to eliminate the Fillies and end their tournament run. The loss left Panola finishing fourth in the regional tournament.

Despite the defeat, the Fillies’ postseason appearance highlighted a competitive season in one of the toughest junior college basketball conferences in the country. Their comeback win in the quarterfinals showcased the team’s resilience and determination as they battled through the Region XIV bracket.

With the season now complete, Panola will look ahead to building on this year’s success as the program prepares for the next campaign.
